With 271 passing yards and 3 passing touchdowns (and we’ll quickly skim over the -2 rushing yards that shows he’s human), Favre didn’t quite make it as the fantasy football leader this week.  But the fact that he’s the only quarterback to  have defeated all 32 NFL teams, well, that put him over the top. Add that to a solid 30 – 23 win over his old team and division rival Green Bay Packers, he was the logical choice as our Performer of the Week.

I told myself that I wasn’t going to fall for the Favre hype, but I can’t help but enjoy watching the guy play.  I’ll keep quiet on which team I was pulling for though.

The Vikings are going for their first 4-0 start since 2003, while the Packers hope to improve to 3-1.  While both teams insist that the game will be all about getting the win for the team’s sake, it’s safe to assume that a lot will be said about seeing Favre in purple going against the team he led for 16 years.

David (3-1) and Chase (4-0) are picking the Packers to win tonight, while Spencer (4-0) and I (3-1) are calling it a Vikings victory.

For those of you that haven’t heard (I know, who hasn’t heard), Brett Favre made it official yesterday that he will play for the Minnesota Vikings this year. Not only is he back, but he’s back in the division of his old team, to a big rival of the Packers. Interesting.

It’s kind of funny, just a few days ago I was joking with my son about this. He was ready to go ahead and do our family fantasy football draft, but I told him we needed to hold off a bit, because we don’t even know some of the starting quarterbacks. I then went on to joke that, “Who knows? Brett Favre could still come back.” The next day, the Brett Favre comeback news stories started up again.
