Led by Coach Mike Krzyzewski, the Duke Blue Devils escaped the Butler Bulldogs and won their fourth NCAA tournament championship. Butler’s Gordon Hayward was held to a mere 12 points after averaging 16 points throughout the tourney. Kyle Singler and Jon Scheyer combined for 34 points to lead Duke. Our Final Four preview continues with Michigan State against Butler. Here is a look of how both teams advanced to the Final Four.
Michigan State beats Tennessee. Michigan St. barely escaped against the Volunteers. But the Spartans did enough to advance to the Final Four for the sixth time in the last 12 years.
The Final Four is all set with some pretty interesting storylines. Duke and Coach K make their return to the Final Four after a six-year absence, Michigan State makes their second straight appearance, the Butler Bulldogs continued their 24-game winning streak at the expense of Kansas State, and West Virginia reaches the Final Four for the first time since 1959.
The 2010 March Madness featured eight upsets in the first round alone – including the shocking loss of third-seed Georgetown to the 14th-seed Ohio. The Sweet 16 features four Cinderella teams – Northern Iowa, St.Mary’s, Washington and Cornell.
I can’t help but give teams like Ohio, Northern Iowa, Georgia Tech, Murray St., Old Dominion and Missouri the recognition they deserve in upsetting some of the early favorites in the tourney despite messing up my tourney bracket.

Alabama’s defense was the story as they knocked out Texas quarterback Colt McCoy in the first quarter, scored a defensive touchdown right before the half, and forced a fumble late in the game to seal their victory.
