Week 4 of the 2009 NFL season was another interesting one and probably the most talked about game was the Green Bay Packers facing the Minnesota Vikings. With Brett Favre playing against his old team in an NFC North rivalry, he certainly lived up to the hype. So that makes him this week’s Performer of the Week.

The Green Bay Packers take on the Minnesota Vikings in Monday Night Football this week. It may be an understatement to say that this match-up has been highly anticipated since mid-August when Brett Favre “unretired” once again to sign on as quarterback for the Vikings.
The Vikings are going for their first 4-0 start since 2003, while the Packers hope to improve to 3-1. While both teams insist that the game will be all about getting the win for the team’s sake, it’s safe to assume that a lot will be said about seeing Favre in purple going against the team he led for 16 years.

For week 3 of the 2009 NFL season, we think Kevin Kolb of the Philadelphia Eagles deserves the recognition as our Performer of the Week.
Kolb was not the highest in fantasy football points this past week, he actually came in a very respectable 4th. In the Eagles 34-14 win over the Kansas City Chiefs this past Sunday, Kolb passed for 327 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions. He even had 1 yard of rushing for another touchdown.

The Carolina Panthers come to Arlington to take on the Dallas Cowboys for Monday Night Football this week.
The Cowboys are hoping to post their first win in their new stadium and will be looking for Tony Romo to redeem himself after last week’s sloppy game. They may find themselves without the help of running back Marion Barber who injured himself late in last week’s loss to the Giants. Continue reading… Monday Night Football Poll – Panthers vs. Cowboys
We’ve decided to start a new weekly series to recognize those overachievers for the prior weekend in the NFL.
There were a few to choose from this past weekend, so we’ve decided to base it on 1) fantasy football points according to Yahoo Fantasy Football, 2) whether they won their game, and 3) our discretion (that’s the cool thing about having your own blog).

The Indianapolis Colts return to Miami for the first time since their Super Bowl XLI win to take on the Miami Dolphins in this week’s Monday Night Football game.
The Colts are looking for win number two under new head coach Jim Caldwell. A win tonight would also give Peyton Manning his 119th victory, breaking his current tie with Johnny Unitas for the franchise record.
The Dolphins are hoping to make a better showing than they did last week when they struggled to find their offense against the Falcons. This is their first Monday Night Football game since Christmas of 2006.

The first Monday Night Football of the regular season brings us two games to enjoy. The early game has the Buffalo Bills taking on the New England Patriots. This game will feature the return of Tom Brady at quarterback for the Patriots as well as a look at Terrell Owens in a Buffalo Bills uniform.
The second football game of the night features the San Diego Chargers at the Oakland Raiders. Oakland really struggled in the preseason, and it looks like they may have a hard time reigning in a Chargers’ offense boasting the skills of Philip Rivers and LaDainian Tomlinson.
Preseason is over and fantasy football drafts are completed. Now it’s what we’ve been waiting for…the 2009 NFL season has begun.
