Performer of the Week – Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints
Week 6 of this NFL season brought us a number of undefeated teams. And the game that stood out the most was the one between the undefeated New York Giants and New Orleans Saints. Of course, one of those would leave that game with a loss.
That brings us to our Performer of the Week, who stays undefeated through week 6. Drew Brees gets the honor of being our Performer of the Week.
In the New Orleans Saints 48 – 27 win, Drew Brees threw for 4 touchdowns and 369 yards in his 23 of 30 pass attempts. He even came close to a perfect passer rating with 156.8 and completed 15 passes in a row. He wasn’t sacked a single time and didn’t turn the ball over.
Drew Brees came in 2nd in fantasy football points to Tom Brady, but the Saints faced an undefeated team, whereas the Patriots…well, they faced the no-win Titans. So that put Brees over the top (not to mention that he’s my fantasy football quarterback).
The New Orleans Saints are now 5 – 0. With the way they’ve been playing, Drew Brees is bound to end up on our list again sometime soon.
