The 2009 Major League Baseball season is now underway. The 2008 World Champion Philadelphia Phillies fell to the Atlanta Braves in last night’s season opener. Twelve more games are set to take place on opening day today.
This baseball season brings us two new parks in New York, Ken Griffey Jr. back in Seattle, and Manny Ramirez playing his first full season for the Dodgers.
The Yankees spent a record amount to bring in CC Sabathia, Mark Teixeira, and A.J. Burnett, but they will start the season without the injured Alex Rodriguez. Will these pricey players help the Yankees regain their former glory?
Will the Tampa Bay Rays match their success of last season? Can the Washington Nationals go from worst to first this season like the Rays did last year? Will the Cubs and Mets be able to avoid late-season collapses?
